They are hand fabricated from sterling silver sheet and wire. Opals are an October birthstone but these beautiful opals will look great on anyone. Lightweight and comfortable, they will ship with silicone stoppers to prevent the ear wires from sliding off unintentionally.

Opals are formed when water runs down through the earth and mixes with silicon dioxide. As the water seeps into cracks and crevices (that are caused by natural faults or decomposing fossils), the water eventually evaporates, leaving the silica. The silica particles catch the light and diffracts it, giving the stones the luminescent quality opals are known for. The process of creating an opal takes millions of years!
