Mexican Fire Agate Ring, 14k Gemstone Ring, Opal Statement Ring, OOAK Womens Ring
Amazing, one of a kind Mexican Fire Agate set in 14k Gold, this unique stone has a life of its own! Although the surface is smooth to the touch, it appears ready to burst into life with dots of green and orange. This stone measures 7mm by 6mm. In its 14k gold bezel and with the 14k wire border, the top of the ring is 10mm by 9mm. The 14k band is a nice heavy band, comfortable but not thin. It measures 3mm wide by 2mm thick.
Mexican Fire Agates are only found in Northern Mexico and the Southwestern US. Fire agate was formed through volcanic activity that took place during the Tertiary Period, millions of years ago. Extreme volcanic activity forced hot water infused with silica and other elements to seep into cracks and crevices. As the solution cooled, the silica grew layers of chalcedony infused with iron which is responsible for the reddish orange color. This stone is a particularly pretty example of Mexican Fire Agate and has a hardness of about 7, which makes it pretty durable for a ring.
This ring is a size 7.25 and can be stretched to a size 8. I also have a few other cabochons in this material if you would like a custom ring.
This ring will arrive in a beautiful gift box with a free polishing cloth. Like all my jewelry, it comes with a lifetime warranty. If it ever needs a repair, just send it to me and I will fix it and return it to you at no charge.
