Ammonite fossil inlaid with Ethiopian Opals and set in sterling silver with six 3mm assorted gemstones and one 5 x 3mm sapphire. The other gems are chrome diopside, amethyst and neon apatite. This pendant measures 1 1/2" long (including the top circle) and 1 1/4" wide at the widest point. It is shown with an 18" sterling silver wheat chain that has a lobster claw clasp. If you have your own chain, you can purchase the pendant on its own.

Ammonites were sea creatures that were related to modern day squids and octopuses. One of the main differences is that they lived inside of a shell. Their shell was made from aragonite which is the same substance that pearls are made of. As they grew larger, they added chambers and the empty chambers helped them float. They were very common during the age of the dinosaur, about 425 million years ago. They died out and became extinct 66 million years ago.

This pendant will arrive in a beautiful gift box with a free polishing cloth. Like all my jewelry, it comes with a lifetime warranty. If it ever needs a repair, just send it to me and I will fix it and return it to you at no charge.
