Beautiful, natural Peruvian Opal oval set in sterling silver encircled with sterling silver twigs (cast from actual live twigs), this pendant is 1 1/4" from top of the loop to bottom edge. It is 3/4" wide. It is shown on an oxidized sterling silver wheat chain but is available without the chain, too. The back is embossed with a flower motif to continue the floral theme.
Peruvian Opal is a rare stone that is only found in the Andes mountains near San Patricio. The colors are reminiscent of a Caribbean ocean and it commonly has dendrites that add to its "picture" quality. It is the national stone of Peru. It is about 5.5 to 6.5 on the Moh's scale of hardness which is about the same hardness as glass so some care must be taken not to scratch the stone.
