Rutilated Quartz triangle accented with a 5mm rose cut black diamond (both set in 14k gold) and a textured 14k gold square wire. The pendant bail is 14k gold. This beautiful Rutilated Quartz measures 12mm x 20mm and is set in a 4mm wide 14k gold bezel. Rutilated quartz comes in many quality levels and this star pattern is the most desirable. The rutiles are like golden threads radiating from a small hematite center.
Rutilated Quartz is a variety of clear quartz that was known as "Venus Hair Stone" or "Angel's Hair" because of the delicate golden needles that permeate it. These "needles' are actually composed of titanium dioxide. This stone has a hardness of 7 which makes it a good choice for a pendant or earrings.
